My eyes are barely open and already I’m pissed off this morning. I just watched the above clip from the Jon Stewart Show. I realize that this aired a few days ago but I don’t watch much TV.
You can watch the clip from the Daily Show with John Oliver and former CNN reporter and Navy Seal Kaj Larsen here:

CNN has disappointed me. I can understand that the investigative journalism department can be costly. I get it. But isn’t that what news is all about? Isn’t it about uncovering the hidden stories that shape our culture and make great reporting what it is? Seriously, people? I would think that what has really put the burden on BIG BUSINESS NEWS is covering the war in the Middle East for the past decade plus.
Who is going to be the voice to the child soldiers in Sierra Leone, or the enslavement of international sex workers, or Africa’s witch children? Who is going to be the voice of the dark side of our world?
I think CNN’s decision is more far-reaching than some may suspect. If we mute the voice of our journalists we are closing our eyes and ears to the heartthrob of humanity.
It fills me with sadness and pisses me off. It looks like I’ll be getting my news elsewhere.
If you have not heard of the witch children of Africa here is some information. It is very tragic.
