Play, Pause, Rewind: The DVR of Life

In Inspiration on March 21, 2013 at 8:55 am

Do you ever feel like sometimes you could use stop, play and rewind buttons in life? Maybe right after you said or did the wrong thing and you saw the hurt in another’s eyes? It would be nice to rewind and do over. Or how about that moment when a child smiles at you in pure innocent joy, wouldn’t it be great to pause that slice of time. Or the first time you felt important and needed, if you could play that over an d over wouldn’t it help you remember who you are? Time is such a precious thing and sometimes in our busy lives we forget what really matters is not where we are going and how fast we can get there but where we are and who we are with. Simple words but I think we all need reminding sometimes that life can easily get away from us and we need to look a bit closer everyday. We can’t take life and record it so that we can sit down and watch it unfold at our convenience. Take a few moments today and notice the people around you. Really notice them. Think about them. Say, “Thank you.” Say, “I’m sorry.” Say, “I think you are great.” Say, ” I love you.” Just say it. Open up and live today in grace and compassion.
