What Miley Cyrus and the Republican Party Have In Common.

So I would guess that most of us saw the Miley Cyrus “twerking” incident and those of us with some moral sense found it pretty appalling. It was a classless act and she is a terrible role model for our young girls, but it was very effective. Social media blew up over her act with both good and bad comments. She was on just about every talk show and Saturday Night Live.

I am also sure that most of us are aware of the government shutdown orchestrated by the Republican Party. Social media blew up over their act with both good and bad comments. Republicans were on every news show, particularly FOX.

Both instances high-jacked the media and some of us shake our heads and wish that we could force Miley and the Republicans to clean up their acts and to act like responsible citizens with morals and decency. But as long as the media keeps the fires burning  allowing the art of journalism to be measured by ratings, the number of Twitter followers and hits on their websites we will get what we get. Honestly, they all make me sick.
